The 2012 Wednesday Market will begin on June 20th and run until mid-September. This year we have decided to open the Market earlier in the day in hopes of making it more convenient for people who work downtown. The new hours of operation will be the same as the Saturday Market; 10am-2pm. Come on down, relax, have some lunch and do a little shopping before returning to work (or play!) Remember, June 20th 10am-2pm. See you there!

On February 4th, 2012 the Port Angeles Farmers Market was awarded the “Farmers Market of the Year” award for best medium sized market. Presented by the Washington State Farmers’ Market Association (WSFMA) at the annual WSFMA conference in Leavenworth Washington, this award is given in three categories for small, medium and large Association member markets. Criteria for selection include:

1) Market must be an integral part of its community facilitating strong sales for farmers/vendors through creative special events and educational programming that celebrate & promote fresh, locally grown food.

2) Market is a venue that promotes, supports and advocates for small farms, local, sustainable agriculture and programs that link consumers of all economic levels in their community with fresh, local food.

This awardwas presented to the Market Manager and Board of Directors  during a ceremony held at the Market on February 25th.
