Located at the corner of Front and Lincoln streets in downtown Port Angeles, the Port Angeles Farmers Market is your best source for locally grown food and local crafts on the Olympic Peninsula. We have a great representation of local farms featuring organically and sustainably grown vegetables and fruits. Many local artisans also make our Market their home featuring beautiful handmade art and crafts.
Farm to Cafeteria Update
A huge thank you goes out to all who attended the PA School Board special meeting held on the 15th. More than 50 parents, students, farmers and community members came to let the Board know we have had enough of junk food being fed to our children in our schools. The Market’s own Beth Loveridge, who has championed this cause for more than 4 years will be taking a place on the committee that will be working on the new food service contract. Let’s hope the Board heard the more than 20 people who spoke directly to the Board. Enough is enough. It’s time to teach our children more than the three “Rs”. Lets teach them that wholesome healthy food does more than fill your stomach. It builds strong minds and strong healthy bodies. This is a lesson our children cannot live without. Literally.
Check out this eye opener from chef Jamie Oliver. First grade kids can’t identify fresh fruits and vegetables!
