Lela Copeland and Mike Gwaltney (not pictured) are responsible for the vegetable farming at Lazy J Tree Farm. 2010 will be their second season farming at Lazy J and they are planning for a significant increase in production expanding their farming efforts from one acre to three. Lela and Mike also plan to begin growing in greenhouses which will allow them to extend their growing season and offer a wider variety of heat loving produce such as peppers and tomatoes.
Lazy J Tree Farm has been family owned by the Johnson’s for more than 50 years offering beautiful Christmas trees, organic apples and pears and locally produced compost.
